Job Description

Motul Malaysia offers an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven, creative, and hands-on Assistant Marketing Manager to strengthen Motul's brand presence, customer engagement, and business growth in Malaysia.

This role is responsible for supporting the development and leading the execution of integrated marketing initiatives across brand, trade, digital, retail, events, and e-commerce channels. The Assistant Marketing Manager will play a key role in translating business priorities into effective marketing plans, ensuring campaigns are well-executed, brand-aligned, commercially relevant, and measurable.

This role will be based in Motul Malaysia Office in Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Support the development of annual and quarterly marketing plans aligned with Motul Malaysia's business objectives, brand direction, and sales priorities.
  • Lead the execution of brand, trade, retail, digital, event, and e-commerce marketing initiatives.
  • Contribute to go-to-market planning for campaigns, product promotions, channel initiatives, and customer engagement activities.
  • Conduct market research, competitor tracking, and customer/channel analysis to identify opportunities for brand and business growth.
  • Translate market insights into practical marketing recommendations for campaign planning and business decision-making.

Brand Management & Communication

  • Ensure consistent brand messaging, visual identity, and communication standards across all marketing channels and materials.
  • Oversee the development of marketing collateral, product brochures, presentations, retail materials, digital assets, and communication content.
  • Review marketing materials to ensure they are brand-aligned, commercially relevant, and suitable for the intended audience.
  • Strengthen Motul's brand visibility across customer touchpoints, including digital platforms, retail environments, events, distributor channels, and trade activities.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Motul brand is represented professionally and consistently in the Malaysian market.

Campaigns, Promotions & Market Activations

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, retail, trade, events, and sponsorship platforms.
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to support promotions, dealer activations, distributor campaigns, and trade programmes.
  • Liaise with distributors, dealers, and partners to ensure effective execution of market activations and brand initiatives.
  • Coordinate exhibitions, roadshows, motorsport-related activities, sponsorship events, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor campaign execution quality and ensure activities are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with brand standards.

Content & Digital Marketing

  • Lead the planning and coordination of content across social media, digital campaigns, websites, newsletters, videos, and other communication platforms.
  • Work with agencies and internal stakeholders to develop creative content that supports brand awareness, engagement, and campaign objectives.
  • Monitor digital campaign performance, social media activity, and audience engagement to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on digital marketing trends, platform developments, and consumer engagement approaches relevant to the automotive, motorsports, and lifestyle space.
  • Recommend new digital ideas, content formats, or campaign approaches to improve reach, engagement, and brand relevance.

E-Commerce Marketing

  • Support the planning and execution of online marketing campaigns, promotions, and product visibility initiatives in collaboration with e-commerce enablers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with e-commerce partners to review platform performance, campaign results, product visibility, customer behaviour, and competitor activity.
  • Extract insights from platform dashboards and translate findings into recommendations to improve online performance.
  • Coordinate e-commerce content, product listings, promotional assets, and campaign materials to ensure accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Support initiatives that improve online customer engagement, conversion, and sales performance.

Reporting, Budget & Performance Management

  • Track, monitor, and report marketing campaign performance, ROI, KPIs, media effectiveness, and channel outcomes.
  • Manage assigned marketing budgets and ensure spending is purposeful, cost-effective, and aligned with campaign priorities.
  • Prepare regular reports, post-campaign analysis, and performance updates for the Marketing Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Use campaign data and market insights to recommend improvements for future campaigns and activations.
  • Ensure marketing activities are measured not only by execution completion, but also by brand impact, engagement, commercial relevance, and business contribution.

Stakeholder, Agency & Vendor Management

  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Regional Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth alignment and execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate with agencies, vendors, media partners, and event partners to ensure quality delivery of marketing projects.
  • Provide clear briefs, timelines, expectations, and feedback to external partners.
  • Build strong working relationships with distributors, dealers, and business partners to support effective marketing execution.
  • Support alignment between local business needs, regional brand direction, and market-level execution.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 4–6 years of relevant marketing experience, preferably with exposure to brand marketing, trade marketing, retail activation, digital marketing, or campaign management.
  • Experience in FMCG, automotive, motorcycle, lubricant, lifestyle, retail, or consumer-facing industries would be advantageous.
  • Experience in e-commerce marketing, online promotions, marketplace campaigns, or working with e-commerce enablers would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing fundamentals, media performance, and campaign analytics.
  • Experience managing agencies, vendors, media partners, or event partners.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare campaign briefs, reports, presentations, and stakeholder updates.
  • Good commercial understanding, with the ability to connect marketing activities to sales priorities, customer engagement, and business growth.
  • Strong attention to detail and a good eye for brand, content, design, and customer experience.
  • Passion for automotive, motorsports, or lifestyle brands would be an advantage and aligns well with Motul's brand DNA.
