JOB BRIEF
We are looking for a pro-active, dynamic individual to lead the Audit Department and the candidate must be able to demonstrate good leadership, client management and problem-solving skills and must be resilient and adaptable in a changing work environment.
The candidate will be responsible for organizing and managing audits according to audit plans, overseeing the process of audits, managing auditors to ensure that the audit work is performed according to the required standard and deadlines.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, guide and mentor audit teams to deliver high-quality audit engagements.
- Plan, execute, monitor and complete audit engagements efficiently within budget, cost constraints and agreed timelines.
- Review audit working papers, audit programs, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, independence, and compliance with professional standards.
- Identify legislation, regulatory, and compliance issues relevant to audit engagements and ensure adherence to applicable professional standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the audit team on financial reporting, auditing, and quality management standards.
- Establish, develop and maintain strong client relationships and act as a key contact during audit engagements.
- Contribute to training, technical updates and quality initiatives and to support business development through proposals and networking.
Job Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Professional qualification or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience gained in a professional accounting practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of MFRS/MPERS and auditing standards.
- Familiarity with quality control standards such as International Standard on Quality Control (ISQM 1 & 2).
- Strong leadership, delegation, and supervisory skills to manage audit teams effectively.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior staff, supporting their professional development.
- Proficiency in AMC Insight Audit Software (preferred), IT tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and writing skills, with good commercial awareness and understanding of business environments.
