BIM Modeler

Job Summary

The BIM Modeller is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining accurate Building Information Modelling (BIM) models for electrical and M&E systems in data centre and infrastructure projects. The role supports design coordination, construction planning, clash detection, and as-built documentation to ensure that all BIM models meet project requirements, technical standards, and site conditions. The BIM Modeller will work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to deliver coordinated and buildable BIM models that support efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. BIM Modelling & Coordination

• Develop and maintain BIM models for electrical and M&E systems in data centre and industrial projects using Autodesk Revit.
• Model and coordinate systems, including:

1. Electrical power distribution (LV / MV)
2. Cable trays, conduits, and containment systems
3. Switchgear and distribution boards
4. UPS and generator systems
5. Mechanical services related to M&E coordination

• Perform clash detection and coordination using Autodesk Navisworks or equivalent BIM coordination tools.
• Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve design conflicts and ensure constructability.
• Update BIM models based on approved drawings, RFIs, and site changes.

2. Construction & Site Support

• Support project and site teams by producing construction-ready BIM drawings and model visualisations.
• Extract and prepare shop drawings, layout drawings, sections, and details from BIM models.
• Assist engineers and construction teams in resolving installation issues using BIM coordination.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients.

3. Documentation & Deliverables

• Maintain BIM documentation in accordance with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Prepare as-built BIM models that reflect actual site installation.
• Ensure proper file management, version control, and regular model updates.
• Support the preparation and submission of BIM deliverables for project review and client approval.

4. Standards & Compliance

• Ensure BIM models comply with project BIM standards, LOD requirements, and company guidelines.
• Follow client and project-specific BIM requirements, particularly for data centre electrical infrastructure.
• Support QA/QC teams in ensuring the accuracy and constructability of BIM models.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a BIM Modeler, preferably in electrical or M&E construction projects.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit (MEP) and familiar with Autodesk Navisworks.
• Good understanding of electrical and M&E systems coordination.
• Experience in preparing shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built models.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong coordination and communication skills.
• Willing to work closely with project teams and support site activities when required.
