Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Business Analyst cum Developer (JIRA) to manage and support a custom Jira Data Center application. This role combines business analysis, application support, and technical development, requiring the successful candidate to work closely with business stakeholders while maintaining and enhancing the Jira platform.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Jira Data Center environments, gathering business requirements, configuring solutions, and providing end-to-end application support.

Key Responsibilities

Application Support & Ownership

Serve as the primary support engineer for a custom Jira Data Center application.
Manage daily operations, incident resolution, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Plan and coordinate application deployments, upgrades, and production releases.
Ensure timely resolution of service requests while meeting SLA commitments.

Business Analysis

Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system enhancements.
Work closely with stakeholders to recommend improvements and optimise business processes.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation activities.

Technical Development & Administration

Administer and maintain Jira Data Center environments.
Configure and customise Jira workflows, schemes, screens, permissions, and projects.
Develop and maintain ScriptRunner (Groovy) scripts to automate business processes.
Troubleshoot and maintain REST API integrations with external applications.
Perform Jira upgrades, plugin management, and system configuration.
Support SSL/HTTPS configurations and infrastructure-related activities.
Resolve database connectivity and performance-related issues using basic SQL knowledge.

Stakeholder & Service Management

Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams.
Manage incidents, service requests, and problem tickets across all priority levels.
Provide technical consultation and recommend suitable Jira solutions.
Prepare system documentation, user guides, and operational procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience supporting Jira Data Center or similar enterprise applications.
Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management.
Hands-on experience with Jira Data Center administration and configuration.
Experience using ScriptRunner (Groovy) for Jira customisation and automation.
Knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations.
Basic SQL knowledge for troubleshooting and database queries.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.
Basic understanding of infrastructure, networking, SSL, and application deployment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Jira Advanced Roadmaps (Plans).
Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments.
Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Experience working in banking, financial services, or large enterprise environments will be an advantage.
