Technical Business Analyst

Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Business Analyst to serve as a Super User for our Risk Data Capture platform. This platform is a third-party, low-code/no-code tool designed to build and configure questionnaires that capture critical risk data within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will leverage their understanding of insurance processes and technical skills to design, develop, and optimize questionnaires, ensuring they meet business needs and regulatory requirements.

What can you expect

  • Act as a Super User, gaining in-depth knowledge of the Risk Data Capture platform's functionality and capabilities.
  • Build and configure questionnaires using low-code/no-code tools, incorporating conditional logic, data validation, and dynamic question flows.
  • Use SQL and conditional logic to develop complex question pathways and data validation rules.
  • Apply HTML markup language to customize question presentation and formatting where necessary.
  • Analyze current (as-is) and future (to-be) insurance business processes, ensuring questionnaires align with operational workflows.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data mappings, dictionaries, and documentation to support questionnaire configuration and data analysis.
  • Develop and add bespoke questions tailored to client needs within the system, ensuring they align with client requirements
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users and stakeholders on platform features and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, validate questionnaire designs, and ensure usability.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), developing test scenarios and scripts to validate questionnaire functionality.
  • Partner with IT and business teams to define scope, manage releases, and continuously improve platform capabilities.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business users, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as technical business analyst.
  • Proven communication skills (written and verbal) in working with management, clients, and technological experts.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry, including key processes, terminology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms for form building.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, including writing queries for data validation, conditional logic, and data extraction.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML markup language for customizing question presentation.
  • Familiarity with requirements gathering, process modeling, and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team and serve as a Super User.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, with experience participating in Agile ceremonies.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar for requirements management and project tracking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in iterative development cycles.
