Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join Rémy Cointreau's subsidiary in Malaysia as Business Development Manager based in Johor Bharu. The successful candidate will manage and accelerate the performance of our existing business in the southern part of Johor and other secondary towns deem potential as well as seek, develop and realize new business development opportunities in the area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Wholesaler management including; responsibilities for collection of payments, forecasting orders, and executing of joint promotional plans.
  • Managing relationships with key On/Off-trade operators including; managing outlet performance vs. expectations, developing promotional plans and ensuring appropriate levels of brand visibility.
  • Organizing consumer dinners to drive brand awareness, and generate sales opportunities.
  • Overall responsibility for the medical hall, hamper packer and banquet function channels.
  • Develop and implement business plans to widen both our geographical distribution, and increase our business with existing customers.
  • Joint responsibility with trade marketing to develop area activity calendars, and manage advertising and promotion budgets.
  • Prepare regular updates on best practice, competitor intelligence and local market conditions.

The ideal candidate will bring to the role:

Knowledge

  • Knowledge in spirits markets, brand specifications, competitor products and consumer trends is preferred.

Profile & Skills

  • Desires to succeed in a highly competitive and dynamic environment.
  • Has at least 3-5 years commercial experience working in the consumer goods environment.
  • Pro-active team player, who is self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to accept challenges.
  • Able to manage stakeholders, and prioritize effectively.
  • Possesses an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Education

  • Post-secondary school education at a minimum.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working in a business development / sales role, preferably in the spirits industry.
