Role Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, expanding market presence, and increasing revenue. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, market research skills, strategic thinking, and relationship-building capabilities. The BDM plays a key role in driving company growth through lead generation, client acquisition, and collaboration with internal teams

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute strategies to grow business and expand market presence
  2. Identify and generate new leads through networking, research, and outreach
  3. Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
  4. Present products/services and prepare proposals & quotations
  5. Negotiate deals and close sales to achieve targets
  6. Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  7. Act as the main point of contact for clients and ensure satisfaction
  8. Represent the company at events, meetings, and networking sessions
  9. Work closely with internal teams to support client needs
  10. Track sales performance and prepare reports using CRM tools

General Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
  • Represent the company professionally in meetings and events
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and customer needs

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Be flexible for travel and occasional after-hours client engagement

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Must have experience in the furniture industry
  • Experience in business development / sales / client management
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Professional, confident, and able to build client relationships
  • Good interpersonal skills and positive attitude
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Good organisational and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Willing to travel and work beyond standard hours when needed
