Business Unit Head - SEA (Consumer HealthCare)
Our client is a global leader in its category of consumer healthcare with 30 plus offices globally.
As part of their expansion in the distributor markets covering SEA, they are looking for a dynamic and experienced regional leader.
Job Summary
The Business Unit Director (BUD) takes full leadership responsibility for the assigned business unit, driving commercial strategy to achieve or exceed revenue, market share, and profitability targets. This role involves steering the commercial strategy, leading the cross-functional team (marketing, sales, supply chain), and managing the P&L, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
Major Responsibilities
- Commercial Strategy & Leadership: Build and manage the commercial operations strategy, ensuring raise the bar objectives are integrated into the annual business plan.
- P&L Management: Direct, monitor, and manage the complete P&L for the Business Unit to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Strategic Marketing & Sales: Develop and execute strategic and operational sales and marketing plans for the product portfolio, including new product launches.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Lead and align cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain) in a matrix environment.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance against sales targets and market dynamics, implementing corrective actions to bridge performance gaps.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners to enhance market positioning.
- Talent Development: Create a high-performance, engaging work culture, ensuring succession planning and talent management are in place.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Degree in Science, Business, Management, or related field.
- Experience:
- 14+ years of Sales & Marketing experience in the Pharmaceutical/Consumer Healthcare industry (MNC experience preferred) in the SEA region.
- Having distributor channel, retail and hospital are key.
- 5-7 years of Sales Management and 3-5 years of Marketing Management experience in people management role
- Proven track record of managing a P&L and delivering results.
