Design and Planning:
- Assist in the development design, engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for road and highway projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of civil engineering designs, in the form of 3D models, 2D technical drawings and other associated technical documentation, to address technical issues identified by a combination of real-world testing, analytical study and engineering judgement
- Able to understand, apply geometric design parameters in accordance with the relevant standards and the respective authority's requirement both locally and internationally.
- Preparation of design supporting document, such as relevant and required calculations to support key design decisions.
Site Inspections:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal in conducting site visits to assess existing conditions, gather data, and evaluate project feasibility.
Project Management:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal in supporting the construction phase by coordinating activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Technical Support:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal in providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Compliance:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal in ensuring all projects adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal in preparing cost estimates and contribute to budgeting for road projects.
Reporting:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal in preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status and technical information.
Collaboration:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal with cross-functional teams, including architects, city planners, and construction managers, to ensure project success.
Sustainability and Safety:
- To assist Senior Engineers/Associate/Principal in contributing to the implementation of sustainability and safety initiatives related to highway infrastructure.
Job Specification
- Possess Degree in Civil Engineering and registered with BEM
- Minimum 1-5 years of working experience in design projects
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in drainage, sewerage and water reticulation design
- Knowledge in local and international standards (AASHTO, Austroads, DMRB, JKR, MASMA, SPAN etc)
- Knowledge in civil software is added advantage (Hacres, EPANET etc)
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (MX Road , Open Road, Civil 3d, AutoCadd etc) will be an added advantage.
- Good and positive attitude towards responsibilities given.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to travel to work location and site as and when necessary
