SUMMARY STATEMENT

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a driven professional looking to advance their career in a global consulting environment. The successful candidate will have a role based in Kuala Lumpur supporting our Asia and Global operations.

This is an opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to develop their commercial and analytical skills, learn from experienced regional and global consultants and accelerate their consulting and critical thinking capabilities in the asset management and wealth management industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting on a variety of projects and initiatives across our insights and consulting propositions in asset management and wealth management. Your exposure will predominantly span across Asia Pacific, allowing you to build knowledge, insights and client relationships across these markets. There is also a client-facing element to this role, as well as exposure to business development and collaboration opportunities with other parts of the NMG Group globally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Success in this role will see the following achieved:

  • Assisting senior consultants on project deliverables across Asia Pacific countries, including Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea
  • Managing components of our research programmes in asset management and wealth management, which deliver valuable proprietary information
  • Aggregating and analysing data to identify key client insights and presenting findings through clear impactful storytelling and visualization
  • Collaborating with NMG specialists who manage similar programmes globally, ensuring application of global best practice
  • Proactively maintaining and building a network of wealth and asset management industry contacts and developing rapport with key client decision makers through engagement on topics and industry themes
  • Undertaking analysis, accessing our proprietary data sets to generate ideas and insights and contribute to NMG thought leadership
  • Living the NMG Values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Go for it and Make it Count in all interactions across the business, supporting and participating in a positive team environment locally and in your global interactions

YOUR EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in mathematics, finance or science and strong academic credentials
  • 3-5 years experience in the finance, asset management or wealth management industries
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret and analyse data to solve problems effectively
  • Highly motivated to learn and apply individual critical thinking. Seeking to learn and work effectively across global teams
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be hands-on in delivering high-quality work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including being able to convey and explain information, coherently and confidently, both verbally and in writing
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools is a plus
  • Excellent English. Multi-language skills are an added advantage

The Global Insights Consulting Practice is our largest business-line globally and runs evidenced-based consulting programmes based on interviewing the leading industry experts and key decision makers annually, to analyse industry trends and competitive performance. The practice conducts more than 50 evidence-based Insights Consulting Programmes annually, covering life insurance, health insurance, wealth management, asset management and reinsurance, across all major financial services markets internationally.
