Role Description The Design Verification Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Penang, Malaysia. In this position, the engineer verifies and validates digital and mixed-signal designs against specifications, develops test plans, and executes simulation and verification activities. Daily responsibilities include creating verification environments, writing and reviewing test cases, analyzing results, and documenting findings and design issues. The role involves close collaboration with design, architecture, and quality teams to resolve defects, improve verification coverage, and support sign-off for tape-out or product release. The engineer also contributes to process improvements, automation of verification tasks, and adherence to industry standards and company best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in design verification methodologies, including test planning, coverage analysis, and defect tracking.
- Experience with hardware description and verification languages (e.g., Verilog/SystemVerilog, VHDL, UVM or similar frameworks).
- Hands-on skills with simulation and verification tools (e.g., industry-standard EDA tools for RTL simulation, formal verification, and regression management).
- Solid understanding of digital logic design concepts, SoC/ASIC/FPGA architectures, and interface protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, perform detailed technical analysis, and document verification results clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience in semiconductor or related high-tech industries is an advantage; familiarity with safety or quality standards is beneficial.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
