Job Description

Fintonia Group is building a tech-enabled digital assets financial services platform, with offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, combining a strong background in traditional finance with disruptive technology.

You will be joining a fun and fast-paced environment and will be working with a small team of seasoned industry professionals with experience working at top tier global investment banks and industry leaders.

The Role:

You will own the execution of how Fintonia funds its lending book.

That means three things. You build and maintain the map of the funder universe and run the funding pipeline. You execute the facilities — preparing lender materials, negotiating terms, managing documentation through to close, and then servicing the facility. And you own the funding cost model and the liability-side framework that keep the book matched, liquid, and correctly priced.

You will own origination of new funding relationships — building the funder map, running the pipeline, and increasingly leading these conversations yourself as you build the market presence to do so. We do not expect you to arrive with a ready funder network for this asset class. What we expect is the discipline to build it, supported by the firm's existing network and relationships to secure access in the early phase. The first twelve months are execution-heavy — the models, materials, and processes do not exist yet and you will build them — but this role grows into the primary external face of Fintonia's funding function.

You will work as part of a lean senior team building Fintonia's lending platform. This is a hands-on role: you will be creating frameworks, models, and materials rather than inheriting them.

Key Responsibilities:

Funding origination and pipeline

  • Build and maintain a structured map of the realistic funder universe — private credit funds, digital asset credit funds, liquidity providers, family offices, and institutional lenders — by mandate, ticket size, tenor, and collateral appetite.
  • Run the funding pipeline end to end: outreach sequencing, qualification, tracking, and honest reporting on the status of every live conversation.
  • Lead and originate funder conversations, drawing on the firm's network and relationships to secure access and build credibility in the early phase.
  • Represent Fintonia at industry forums and conferences to build the platform's profile in the funding and structured finance community.

Facility execution and documentation

  • Own the lender pack, loan tape, and data room — ensuring Fintonia presents institutionally from first contact.
  • Negotiate facility terms — pricing, tenor, covenants, collateral mechanics, and structural protections — within the delegated authority framework, escalating for approval as required.
  • Manage legal documentation through to close, working with Legal & Compliance and external counsel.
  • Service executed facilities: drawdowns, repayments, covenant compliance, collateral reporting, and lender relationship management.

Funding cost, asset-liability management, and reporting

  • Build and own the funding cost model, and provide the cost-of-capital floor as a standing input into loan pricing decisions.
  • Own the liability side of the asset-liability framework — building and maintaining the funding profile, monitoring funding tenor and cost against the lending book, and managing liquidity so capacity is always available for new disbursements.
  • Monitor and report funding gap, funding duration, funding cost, and pipeline coverage on a regular cadence — flagging mismatches and recommending corrective action to senior management.
  • Build the funding infrastructure ahead of need, so facilities are in place before the book requires the capacity rather than after.

Requirements:

To be a successful applicant, you are likely to meet the following criteria:

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline. CFA, MBA, or equivalent an advantage.
  • 7–12 years in debt capital markets, structured finance, treasury, funding, or credit — ideally at an investment bank, non-bank lender, fintech lender, specialist finance company, or credit fund.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience executing funding facilities or debt issuances: preparing lender materials, negotiating terms, and managing documentation through to close.
  • Experience identifying and approaching funders or investors from a standing start — building a target list, qualifying it, and converting it.
  • Experience with facility servicing and lender reporting — covenants, drawdowns, collateral, and compliance.

Technical skills

  • Strong funding cost modelling and financial modelling capability; advanced Excel essential.
  • Working knowledge of asset-liability management, funding tenor matching, and liquidity management.
  • Comfort with facility documentation and the commercial issues within it.
  • Familiarity with digital asset markets is welcome but not required — we can teach the collateral; we are hiring for funding execution.

Attributes

  • A builder rather than an inheritor — comfortable creating models, materials, and processes from nothing.
  • Hands-on and self-sufficient in a lean team.
  • Institutionally credible in writing and in person — able to hold a term sheet conversation with a sophisticated counterparty.
  • Structured, precise, and disciplined on documentation and follow-through.
  • Comfortable operating across Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, and in an environment where frameworks are built in real time.
