Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ELV Engineer to support the design, coordination, installation, and commissioning of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems for a hyperscale data center project. The role will focus heavily on Building Management Systems (BMS) and Facility Management Control Systems (FMCS), ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and compliance with mission-critical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Review and coordinate design of ELV systems including:
- Building Management System (BMS)
- Facility Management Control System (FMCS)
- Structured cabling systems (SCS)
- CCTV, access control, intrusion detection
- Public address (PA) and intercom systems
- Fire alarm interface (where applicable)
- Ensure all ELV systems are aligned with data center operational requirements (uptime, redundancy, scalability).
- Coordinate with MEP, ICT, and CSA teams for system integration.
Project Execution
- Supervise installation of ELV systems on-site to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Manage ELV subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to schedule.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and verification of installed systems.
BMS / FMCS Integration
- Oversee implementation and integration of BMS and FMCS platforms for monitoring and control of:
- HVAC systems
- Power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear interfaces)
- Environmental monitoring
- Ensure proper data mapping, point schedules, and communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
- Coordinate with automation vendors for system programming, graphics, and dashboards.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review and manage:
- Shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals
- As-built drawings and O&M manuals
- Ensure compliance with:
- Local authority regulations
- Client specifications
- International standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, IEC, etc.)
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in ELV systems.
- Proven experience in hyperscale or mission-critical data center projects is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with:
- BMS
- FMCS platforms in data center environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hyperscale clients (e.g., cloud providers).
- Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards or equivalent.
- Knowledge of DCIM systems integration is an advantage.
