The Digital Operations (Roaming Hub) role is responsible for the product management, commercial growth, and day-to-day operational oversight of Gentari's EV Roaming Hub. This role sits at the intersection of product, commercial, and operations - owning the partner onboarding pipeline, the hub's product roadmap, interoperability standards compliance, and ongoing operational performance. The individual is accountable for growing the number of active roaming partners, increasing roaming transaction volumes, and ensuring the hub operates reliably and within budget. A significant portion of this role involves directly driving the development of the EV Roaming Hub as a product, as well as contributing to Gentari Go features that depend on roaming connectivity, with qualifying development time recorded for CAPEX capitalisation.

Responsibilities

Roaming Partner Onboarding & Commercial Development

  • Own the full partner onboarding lifecycle - from identifying prospective CPO/eMSP partners, through commercial and technical negotiation, integration testing, and activation to live status.
  • Maintain an up-to-date roaming partner pipeline tracker, reporting monthly on prospects, in-progress integrations, and newly activated partners.
  • Develop and maintain partnership agreements and integration specifications for all active roaming connections.
  • Build and nurture ongoing relationships with roaming partners through regular check-ins and proactive issue resolution to maintain trust and drive transaction volume growth.

Roaming Hub Operations & Incident Management

  • Monitor EV Roaming Hub availability and roaming session success rates daily, coordinating with the technical team or vendor to resolve incidents within SLA.
  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for roaming partners, maintaining a partner issue log and ensuring all reported issues are resolved within agreed SLA.
  • Investigate and escalate hub-side connection issues that contribute to failed charge attempts, coordinating with the CPMS role where issues span both systems.
  • Produce and distribute monthly hub availability and transaction performance reports to the Head of Digital Operations.

Product Management & Roadmap Delivery

  • Maintain a structured product backlog and rolling roadmap for the EV Roaming Hub, prioritising features and integrations based on partner feedback, revenue impact, and operational need.
  • Define and document product requirements for new hub features or integration enhancements, working with technical stakeholders and vendors to scope and deliver them.
  • Track and report on roadmap delivery quarterly, managing risks and dependencies that could affect delivery timelines.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) on new hub features and integrations, ensuring quality before deployment.

Interoperability, Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure all new and existing partner integrations comply with OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface) and relevant EV roaming standards.
  • Maintain a comprehensive set of integration specifications and compliance documentation for all active roaming connections.
  • Monitor developments in EV roaming standards and proactively plan upgrades to ensure the hub remains interoperable and competitive.

Financial Governance & CAPEX Management

  • Manage and track all EV Roaming Hub-related CAPEX expenditure against allocated budget, providing quarterly reports to the Head of Digital Operations and Finance.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise hub-related costs through vendor contract reviews, infrastructure rationalisation, or process efficiency improvements.
  • Raise early flags for any spend risk or budget overrun with sufficient lead time for corrective action.
  • Reviewing and approving CPMS-side changes required to support new roaming partner onboarding, including protocol compatibility validation.

EV Roaming Hub - Qualifying Activities

  • Leading the product design and requirements definition for all new EV Roaming Hub features, producing detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories that form part of the asset development record.
  • Owning and managing the EV Roaming Hub product backlog and roadmap, translating business and commercial needs into structured development deliverables.
  • Defining and documenting integration requirements for each new roaming partner onboarding, including OCPI protocol configuration, session handling rules, and settlement logic.
  • Managing the delivery of new hub integrations and features end-to-end, from requirements sign-off through development, SIT, UAT, and production deployment.
  • Conducting UAT for all new EV Roaming Hub releases, documenting test cases, defects, and sign-off evidence as part of the development asset record.
  • Participating in architecture and design reviews for EV Roaming Hub infrastructure changes, providing product and commercial input on feature prioritisation and build scope.
  • Coordinating with vendors and technical teams to deliver hub interoperability upgrades, new OCPI version support, and settlement system integrations as development work streams.

Gentari Go (EV Charging App) - Qualifying Activities

  • Defining the product requirements for Gentari Go features that depend on EV roaming connectivity, such as cross-network charging access, roaming session display, and partner network discovery.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert on roaming network topology and partner coverage for the Gentari Go product and engineering teams during feature development.
  • Conducting UAT for Gentari Go features that rely on roaming hub connectivity, validating correct session initiation, status updates, and completion flows across partner networks.
  • Documenting roaming-related business rules, partner network data, and integration logic that form part of Gentari Go's technical and product architecture for capitalisation records.
  • Contributing to Gentari Go product roadmap discussions by identifying roaming network expansion opportunities and new partner connections that could enhance in-app charging network coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in product management, technical operations, or business development in a technology-driven environment.
  • Proven experience managing commercial partnerships or B2B integrations, preferably in the mobility, energy, or IoT sector.
  • Prior experience in EV charging, roaming networks, or smart mobility is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface) and EV roaming frameworks.
  • Familiarity with OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) and how CPMS systems interact with roaming hubs.
  • Experience managing API-based integrations and understanding of REST API concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret integration logs, transaction records, and system monitoring outputs.
  • Proficiency in project or product management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Notion, or equivalent).
  • Comfortable with data analysis in Excel or equivalent tools for transaction reporting and partner performance tracking.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage partner relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Product-oriented thinker with the ability to balance strategic roadmap planning with day-to-day operational demands.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple partner integrations and concurrent workstreams simultaneously.
