JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for performing and reviewing finance operations covering AR, AP, GL, financial reporting, audit and tax, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial records and processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform and review AR and AP operations, including billing, collections, ageing, customer/supplier reconciliations, invoice processing and payment schedules; ensure accuracy, completeness and timely follow-up of outstanding items.
- Perform and review GL and month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, balance sheet reconciliations and accounting entries.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports, schedules and variance analysis for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate and support external and internal audits, including preparation and review of audit schedules, supporting documents and responses to audit queries.
- Support tax and statutory compliance, including corporate tax, SST, withholding tax and other applicable requirements; liaise with tax agents and relevant authorities where required.
- Perform and review compliance with accounting standards, finance policies, SOPs and internal controls, and identify areas requiring corrective action.
- Support process improvement, automation and finance system enhancement initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy and internal controls.
- Work closely with internal departments, auditors, tax agents, customers and vendors on finance-related matters.
- Provide guidance and review of work performed by Finance Executives, assist in resolving accounting issues and support the Finance Manager in financial analysis, projects and ad-hoc assignments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience with hands-on exposure to AR, AP and GL.
- Strong experience in month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliation and audit.
- Experience in performing and reviewing AR/AP/GL transactions and accounting work is required.
- Good knowledge of tax, SST, withholding tax and statutory compliance.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems; SQL Accounting experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Meticulous, organised, independent and able to work under tight deadlines.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA/CPA/CIMA or partial qualification is an advantage.
