Job Description

Executive, PR Communications & Brand will be a part of the team that strategises, develops and implements AEON Bank's strategic communications and PR strategy, crafting the brand narrative that contributes towards positive reputation building and brand affinity, media engagement and thought leadership in the digital banking and fintech industry, as well as Shariah banking community.

As one of the team members, the role best fits a versatile strategic communicator or PR practitioner or high potential candidate that thrive in a collaborative work environment with the ability to efficiently collaborate with internal/external stakeholders, thus ensuring that our competitive edge, Customer Value Proposition (CVP) and Unique Selling Proposition (USP) resonate across the target market, and ultimately contributes towards the key business goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Strategic Communications : Reputation Building, Thought Leadership and Media Relations

  • Assist the HoD and team lead in executing the PR communications and media strategy, increase our PR Value (PRV), Share of Voice (SoV) and TOMA (Top-of-Mind-Awareness), contributing to drive Tier 1 - 2 /mainstream news coverage.
  • Support the strategy and PR activation to strengthen the Bank's brand reputation, enhance brand visibility aligned with organisational goals, purpose, mission and vision, CVP and USP.
  • Work together with the HoD and team lead to identify key communication priorities, target audiences and PR engagement channels to maximise reach and impact, as part of the effort to position AEON Bank as a thought leader in fintech and digital banking industries and across the Shariah banking fraternity.
  • Co-create in developing a compelling narrative, key messaging and creative concepts, based on the understanding, insights and comprehensive research on industry trends, target audiences and competitors.
  • Assist in cultivating good rapport between AEON Bank and media editors, journalists, PICs of media groups/news publications, etc, for earned media, paid media and shared media.
  • Coordinate the preparation for the Bank's official spokesperson media interviews, speaking engagements, i.e. conference, industry roundtable, summit and PR related events.
  • Support the team lead in collaborating with the internal stakeholders/subject matter experts to develop the right narrative, compelling content and visual assets for relevant campaigns
  • Team up with the appointed PR agency to roll out the Bank's PR strategy, tactical communications and media engagement formula, while ensuring optimum collaboration with the PR agency in executing the Bank's PR campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the PR agency to leverage on data and insights, as well as to monitor and track the Bank's PRV, SoV, competitors news, industry news, trends and emerging issues, while tactically team up with the PR agency in the event of a crisis.

Crisis Communications and Issue Mitigation

  • Assist the HoD and the team to effectively manage rising issues and crisis, while mitigating reputational risks.
  • Contribute towards crisis preparedness efforts, including business impact analysis (BIA) and business continuity plan (BCP).

VBI Stakeholder Engagement, Event Management and SVC Community Impact Initiative

  • Support the Value Based Intermediation (VBI) stakeholders engagement and foster a collaborative relationship with key stakeholders.
  • Work together with internal/external partners to plan and manage PR events, adhering to the requirement and governance process, while ensuring an impactful PR outcome.
  • Assist in planning and implementing Sustainability Value Creation (SVC) / financial inclusion / community impact initiatives with identified NGO or Non-Profit Organisation, in support of community in need.

Brand Custodian Role, Copywriting and Translations

  • Support the need to enhance and safeguard AEON Bank's overarching brand and all sub-branding activations, aligned with AEON Bank Corporate Identity (CI) Brand Guideline and Tone of Voice.
  • Ensure strict accuracy and alignment with relevant departments/teams in the creation of brand related assets and collaterals featuring our logo and brand identity.
  • Write engaging and concise copywriting materials in English and BM, including press release, media statement, LinkedIn captions, PR campaigns materials, media kit, scripts, speeches, interview key pointers and more.
  • Ensure that all communications materials in English and BM are accurate, grammatically correct and adheres to AEON Bank CI Brand Guidelines and tone of voice, as well as proofread and edit the communications materials to ensure high quality and consistency.
  • Translate communications materials from English to BM and vice versa. Ability to understand and write in other languages would be an advantage.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PR copywriting and digital content best practices.

Creative Artworks, Photography and Videography

  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to conceptualise and visualise creative content and key visuals for PR campaigns.
  • Partner with the in-house photographer/videographer/video editor to ensure the best outcome for the creative assets and campaign collaterals produced for the Bank.
  • Ability to be proficient in digital communication tools and platforms, including website content management system (CMS) and social networking platforms.
  • Skills in photography and videography would be an added advantage.

Administrative Duties, System Management and Corporate Merchandise

  • Co-manage the design creation and inventory management of the AEON Bank premium corporate merchandise, specifically for PR campaigns purposes.
  • In charge of administrative tasks and payment coordination via various online systems.
  • Ad hoc tasks, as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Media Communications, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Mass Communications, Journalism or related fields.
  • Ideally a good working experience with a PR agency or media agency OR a minimum of 1 - 2 years related experience in a corporate environment with transferrable skillsets. Fresh graduates with the right mindset and capability are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient in developing impactful storytelling, with excellent written and verbal communications skills, plus the ability to engage a diverse group of audiences.
  • Capable in translating concepts into engaging visual narrative.
  • Attention to details and strong commitment in delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Fast learner and highly organised self-starter with a positive attitude .
  • Adaptable to changes and capable of multitasking, while being result-focused and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced work environment and highly regulated banking industry.
  • Ability to work efficiently as a collaborative team player, as well as able to perform independently as a single contributor.
  • A keen interest or understanding of Shariah banking and the fintech industry are crucial.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu. Proficiency in other languages would be an added advantage.
