Job Purpose
This is an entry-to-mid-level finance support role assisting the Finance team for RTS Operations Pte Ltd (RTSO) and it's branch, the joint-venture between Prasarana and SMRT. The position focuses on efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions across Singapore and Malaysia operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial records in a cross-border environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Handle day-to-day accounts payable processes, including receiving, verifying, coding, and processing vendor invoices for payment; obtain necessary approvals; prepare and execute payments.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including preparation and issuance of customer invoices, recording of receipts, application of payments, follow-up on outstanding receivables, and resolution of billing queries.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry and accounting entries for AP and AR transactions in the ERP system for both Singapore and Malaysia operations.
- Responsible for managing the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure accurate financial records, timely payments, and efficient collection of receivables.
- Assist in maintaining sub-ledgers for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper documentation and filing.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., procurement, operations) and external parties (vendors, customers) to resolve invoice/payment/receipt issues.
- Reconcile vendor statements, customer accounts, and related sub-ledgers; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare weekly/monthly cash flow (payments/ receipts) runs.
- Assist in monitoring cash flow impacts from AP/AR activities and flag any potential issues to the Assistant Finance Manager/Finance Manager.
- Support month-end closing activities, including preparation of AP/AR aging reports, bank reconciliations (as assigned), and accrual/prepayment schedules related to payables and receivables.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International), Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, and relevant tax regulations (e.g., withholding tax on payments).
- Provide support during internal/external audits by preparing AP/AR-related schedules and documentation.
- Assist in SAP B1 system setup, configuration, and testing of AP/AR modules (e.g., master data setup for vendors/customers, payment terms, workflows, and transaction templates).
- Support data migration activities, including preparing and cleaning legacy AP/AR data, validating migrated opening balances, open invoices, and transactions, and performing post-migration reconciliations.
- Handle ad-hoc administrative tasks related to finance, such as filing, scanning documents, and maintaining vendor/customer master data.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Assistant Finance Manager or Finance Manager.
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or equivalent professional qualification such as LCCI, CAT, or pursuing ACCA.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting support (experience in cross border operations or joint-venture environments is advantageous). Fresh graduates with strong internship experience in finance/AP/AR may be considered.
- Familiarity with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International) and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP B1 (including basic master data maintenance, transaction processing, and exposure to Data Transfer or migration is a plus).
