Job Description

Job Brief

Responsible for supporting the month-end closing of accounts, conducting financial analysis and reporting and ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance. The candidate should demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by effective communication abilities.

Additionally, the role involves assisting in continuous process improvements, enhancing reporting efficiency, and supporting finance transformation and automation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in timely closing of MFRS 17 (Insurance Contracts) monthly accounts, including but not limited to journal postings and preparation of reports ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Assist in preparation of MFRS 17 finance tasks, including data extraction and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of MFRS 17 Annual Financial Statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audit exercises and reviews by auditors and/or authorities by preparing and providing requested information in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy through automation and regular review of existing protocols.
  • Utilize SAP/BI tools to generate insightful reporting and business analytics.
  • Participate and assist in preparation and execution of regulatory projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the planning and execution of regulatory projects, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements.
  • Attend any ad-hoc assignments that may be required from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of SAP/BI systems is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • 1–2 years of experience in Finance or Accounting; experience in the insurance industry is preferred
