Role Overview

This is a key finance leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of finance operations in Malaysia. The role will partner closely with the Managing Director and Regional finance leadership to drive financial performance, ensure strong governance, and support strategic business decisions.

The position also plays a critical role in project finance, commercial evaluation, and cross-border finance activities within a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing insights to drive growth and performance.
Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
Manage project financials including cost control, margin analysis, billing, and cash collection improvement.
Drive working capital optimization across receivables, payables, and WIP.
Support bid pricing, contract reviews, and commercial decision-making.
Strengthen internal controls, governance, and financial processes in line with MNC standards.
Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and banking relationships.
Oversee intercompany transactions, shared services, and cross-border finance activities.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.

Role requirements

Degree in Accounting or Finance with professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including managerial exposure.
Experience in engineering, construction, or project-based environments preferred.
Strong understanding of project accounting, financial reporting, and commercial finance.
Proven ability to drive financial performance, cost control, and process improvements.
Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on and strategic mindset.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience in a multinational environment is highly preferred.
