Job Description

This position will be the key Finance Manager to assist in overseeing the Group Finance team and in charge of financial reporting of Wasco Bhd Group (WB)/Wasco Energy Group (WEL), both quarterly and year-end reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure monthly/quarterly reporting of WB/WEL consolidation is completed on a timely basis, including KFI and relevant analytical review.
  • Liaise with respective finance team within WB/WEL Group to obtain the necessary information and clarification.
  • Ensure year end reporting of WB/WEL, including consolidation package, tax & deferred tax computation, preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Closely monitoring the group reporting requirements and dates are met in accordance with the Group Finance's timeline on announcement and Annual Report.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting and taxation, stamp duty, licensing, reporting requirements of Malaysia and other territory (where applicable).
  • Oversee certain subsidiary companies for monthly closing.
  • Take care of certain system improvement projects/SOP & LOA review.
  • Support Wasco on performance monitoring, decision making, budgeting and cashflow. Where necessary, liaise with auditors, tax agents and regulators.
  • Review of risk management and able to identify potential control weaknesses on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Undertake special assignment, ad hoc assignment & related duties as and when necessary.
  • Able to set objectives, manage and develop any staff, particularly the direct subordinate including providing leadership and coaching whenever necessary.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
  • Exposure from audit experience, preferably from PwC/EY/BDO/Deloitte/KPMG.
  • Minimum 6 years of working experience.
  • Willing to travel, as and when need arises.
  • Aggressive, accountable and at the same time able to manage the stakeholders well
  • Independent in managing the team, handling issues, continuously push for improvement and other matters.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Good knowledge of ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Strong technical knowledge and highly analytical.
