Why does this job exist and why is it critical
What are you accountable for
- MFRS 16 data validation through vouching of tenancy contract details.
- Review of deposit and inventory ageing to determine the amount of provision required.
- Posting of legalisation provision.
- Asset retirement obligation monthly postings
- Timely follow up with end users on refund overdue deposits.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support audit activities by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within financial operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies and support business operations.
- Perform other ad-hoc financial tasks, analysis and projects as required.
What do you need to have for the role
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes, especially in MFRS16 - Leases, Provisions and Asset Retirement Obligation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with accounting software - SAP, is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Proactive, organized, and a strong willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
