Why does this job exist and why is it critical

1. Strategy, Architecture & Planning:

• Define and execute the network and cloud infrastructure strategy, aligned with IT and business roadmaps
• Lead infrastructure architecture, including network, compute, storage, cloud, and connectivity standards
• Oversee capacity planning, demand forecasting, and technology lifecycle management
• Drive migration and modernization initiatives (onprem cloud, hybrid, multicloud)
• Partner with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure cohesive solutions

2. Network, Cloud & Infrastructure Operations:

• Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of network and cloud platforms
• Oversee operations of:
  • LAN, WAN, SDWAN, WiFi, Internet, and telecom services
  • Data center and hosting platforms
  • Public cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) and private cloud environments
• Establish and manage 24x7 operational support, incident, problem, and change management
• Own infrastructure uptime, performance SLAs, and operational KPIs

3. Security, Risk & Compliance:

• Work closely with cybersecurity teams to embed security-by-design
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
• Ensure periodic assessment of vulnerability and timely vulnerability remediation
• Lead infrastructure aspects of disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience testing
• Manage thirdparty risks related to infrastructure providers and service partners

4. Financial & Vendor Management:

• Own infrastructure budgets, forecasting, annual operating plan (AOP) derivation and cost optimization (FinOps)
• Drive cost transparency, chargeback/showback where applicable
• Manage strategic relationships with cloud providers, telcos, and system integrators
• Lead sourcing strategy derivation, contract negotiations, performance management of vendors

5. Financial & Vendor Management:
