Role Value Proposition
The Head of Communications serves as a senior advisor and business partner, supporting the delivery of our New Frontier strategy for our conventional life insurance businesses.
The roleholder is accountable for developing and driving the communications agenda, ensuring consistent messaging across internal and external audiences, and coordinating pan-country messaging with the AmMetLife Takaful and our Malaysia Centre of Excellence shared service center. The ultimate goal is to build a strong, market-aligned reputation that engages employees, attracts top talent, and supports business performance, while fostering stakeholder relationships through diverse communication channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic advice and direct support across all aspects of communications, including media relations, employee communications, integrated marketing, executive communications, reputation management, crisis communications, community relations, public affairs, MetLife Foundation activities, and investor messaging where needed.
- Identify the reputation MetLife needs in Malaysia to attract new customers and top talent, build pride among existing customers and employees, and foster positive engagement with all stakeholders.
- Develop and execute a communications reputation planning framework using traditional and digital media, broadcast, social media, and internal channels to promote MetLife's priorities and initiatives.
- Create and repurpose content for internal and external channels to maximize impact.
- Anticipate and mitigate potential issues and reputational risks in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Manage communications channels to ensure a balanced mix of global, regional, and local messages that keep employees informed and engaged.
- Measure impact using external tools and stakeholder feedback, adapting strategies as needed.
- Build strong relationships with AmBank Corporate Affairs to align efforts and facilitate joint initiatives.
- Identify and apply for MetLife Foundation grants, delivering comprehensive PR programs around approved grants.
- Oversee events in coordination with responsible teams as required.
