We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Head of People, Malaysia. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Regional People Lead, this full-time and permanent position is based in our Kuala Lumpur office.

About the Role

The Head of People – Malaysia is a strategic and hands-on HR leader responsible for driving the people agenda across Malaysia operations. The role partners closely with business leaders to build a high-performing, engaged, and future-ready workforce while ensuring strong operational excellence, compliance, and employee experience.

This role will lead the full spectrum of People & Culture initiatives including business partnering, talent management, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, compensation & benefits, culture, and change management.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, enabling business growth through strong people strategies and leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the country leadership team on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent, and culture.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable people's strategies and initiatives.
  • Drive organizational transformation, change management, and workforce readiness initiatives.
  • Partner with regional and global stakeholders to align country people's priorities with broader organizational goals.

Talent & Leadership Development

  • Build strong leadership capability and support development of future-ready talent pipelines.
  • Partner with managers to identify and develop high-potential employees through targeted development interventions.
  • Drive succession planning discussions and talent reviews for critical roles.
  • Support internal mobility and career development initiatives across the organization.

Employee Experience & Culture

  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture aligned with organizational values.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and action planning based on feedback and survey outcomes.
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, wellbeing, and belonging initiatives.
  • Strengthen employer branding and employee value proposition within Malaysia.

Performance & Rewards

  • Drive effective performance management practices including goal setting, feedback culture, and performance reviews.
  • Partner with leaders on performance improvement, coaching, and capability development.
  • Support annual compensation review, salary benchmarking, and reward processes in partnership with regional teams.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of people's policies and practices.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Malaysia employment laws and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee HR policies, procedures, and governance to ensure operational excellence and risk mitigation.
  • Manage employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Partner with payroll and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely HR administration.

Change Management & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Lead organizational design and restructuring initiatives where required.
  • Support leaders in navigating change and improving team effectiveness.
  • Use workforce data and insights to support decision-making and improve organizational performance.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Malaysia People team.
  • Promote collaboration across regional People teams and shared services.
  • Build strong HR capability and continuous improvement mindset within the function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong experience in HR business partnering within multinational and/or matrix organizations.
  • Deep understanding of Malaysia employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in organizational development and talent / change management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Experience supporting fast-paced, evolving environments is highly preferred.
