We are seeking an Intern who is interested in learning about data engineering and analysis in the insurance industry.
You will be responsible for participating in the entire data lifecycle, from building and maintaining reliable data pipelines to delivering meaningful insights. This role combines hands-on data engineering with analytical problem-solving to support both business and operational decision-making.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple data sources
- Manage and improve data models for reporting and analytics use cases
- Support efforts to improve data quality, accuracy, and consistency across datasets
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and failures
- Develop and maintain recurring reports for business stakeholders
- Translate business questions into SQL-based analysis and metrics
- Assist in defining, tracking, and maintaining KPIs and core metrics
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Communicate insights clearly with actionable recommendations
Required Skills & Experience
- Final year or final semester student in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
- Familiarity in SQL, Python and PowerShell for data processing, analysis and report automation
- Experience with BI tools is preferred (e.g. Power BI)
