Role Overview
The Key Account Manager, East Malaysia, plays a pivotal role in accelerating Versuni's growth in the region. This position is accountable for managing and optimizing the performance of the East Malaysia distributor, spearheading market expansion across local electrical channels and hypermarket/supermarket formats, and deepening partnerships with Modern Retail Electrical Stores to maximize sell-out results.
Key Responsibilities
Distributor Management
•Build and maintain strong partnership with the East Malaysia distributor
•Align on sales targets, inventory planning and promotional execution
•Monitor distributor performance and provide strategic guidance to maximize efficiency
•Ensure achievement of sell-in targets through effective forecasting and demand planning
Market Expansion
•Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow market share in East Malaysia
•Execute regional growth initiatives, including channel development and customer acquisition
•Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform expansion strategies
•Expand coverage in hypermarkets, supermarkets and local electrical channels
Modern Retail Management
•Manage relationships with Modern Retail electrical stores in East Malaysia
•Drive sell-out performance through effective merchandising, in-store promotions and roadshows
•Collaborate with retail partners to optimize product visibility and consumer engagement
•Track and report sell out data to ensure alignment with overall business objectives
Commercial & Trade Spend Management
• Manage trade spending within budget, ensuring optimal ROI.
• Monitor promotion effectiveness and adjust strategies to maximize value extraction
• Negotiate trade terms and contracts in line with commercial policy
• Ensure healthy trade inventory levels to support cash flow and on shelf availability.
What You Bring
•10+ years in sales or key account management (electrical, consumer electronics, FMCG preferred).
•Proven track record in managing distributors and modern retail with measurable growth outcomes.
•Commercial negotiation and pricing strategy.
•Trade spend management and promotion effectiveness.
•Collaboration and stakeholder management.
•Entrepreneurial spirit and commercial orientation.
•Problem solving and analytical thinking
•Strong understanding of East Malaysia's retail and distribution landscape.
