Legal Manager

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Provide legal support to the Malaysia and Southeast Asia commercial business teams on contractual and business matters.
• Identify legal and commercial risks within contracts and recommend practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Partner with sales, procurement, finance, operations, and management teams throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Advise management on legal, regulatory, and corporate governance matters affecting business operations.
• Ensure contracts comply with applicable Malaysian laws and relevant regulations across Southeast Asia.
• Coordinate and manage external legal counsel when required.
• Support dispute resolution, claims management, and litigation matters where necessary.
• Develop and improve legal templates, contract management processes, and internal legal policies.
• Conduct legal research and provide timely updates on regulatory changes impacting the business.
• Deliver legal awareness and contract management training to internal stakeholders.

Requirement

• sBachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised university
• .Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) and admitted to the Malaysian Bar
• .Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
• .Experience gained from both a reputable legal firm and an in-house legal department is essential
• .Strong experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
• .Exposure to regional or cross-border commercial transactions within Southeast Asia will be an added advantage
• .Experience supporting engineering, industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, energy, EPCC, infrastructure, or related industries is highly preferred
• .Strong understanding of Malaysian contract law and corporate legal practices
• .Excellent legal drafting, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
