Job Description
Position Title: Management Trainee- Planning & KD
Location: Tampoi, Johor
Duration: Internship -Entry Level

Key Responsibilities
1. KD Planning & Production Support
- Assist the KD Planning team in monitoring KD parts requirements according to production schedules.
- Support daily planning and tracking of incoming KD parts and containers.
- Monitor container arrival schedules and identify potential delays that may affect production.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely availability of KD parts.
2. Container & Logistics Coordination
- Assist in monitoring daily container receiving, shunting, parking and unloading activities within the plant.
- Coordinate with haulage companies, forwarders and shunter drivers on container movements.
- Monitor container delivery status and follow up on delayed or outstanding containers.
- Support efficient utilization of unloading bays, container parking areas and warehouse receiving space.
3. KD Parts Receiving & Unloading
- Monitor unloading progress and prioritize containers based on production requirements.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth receiving and handling of KD parts.
- Assist in resolving operational issues such as congestion, limited parking space, equipment availability and urgent production requirements.
- Ensure unloading activities are conducted according to safety requirements and SOPs.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Liaise with KD Planning, Production, Warehouse, Logistics, Quality and other relevant departments.
- Follow up with suppliers, forwarders and haulage providers regarding delivery and transportation issues.
- Communicate container and KD parts status to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
5. Production Continuity Support
- Monitor potential shortages or delays of KD parts that may affect production.
- Escalate urgent delivery or operational issues to the relevant personnel.
- Support the team in taking corrective actions to minimize production disruptions.
- Assist in ensuring sufficient KD parts availability according to production requirements.
6. Data Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of container arrivals, unloading status, delivery schedules and outstanding containers.
- Assist in preparing daily and weekly KD planning and operational reports.
- Track container turnaround time and delivery performance.
- Support monitoring of demurrage and detention-related issues.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve KD planning, container movement and unloading processes.
- Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce delays and optimize logistics costs.
- Participate in projects and improvement activities assigned by the Planning & KD management team.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time KD container delivery.
- Container turnaround time.
- Achievement of daily container delivery targets.
- Zero production stoppages caused by delayed KD parts/container delivery.
- Timely resolution of logistics and operational issues.
- Efficient utilization of unloading bays and container parking areas.
- Reduction of container demurrage and detention costs.
- Accurate and timely operational reporting.
- Compliance with plant safety requirements and SOPs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Automotive or a related field.
- Open to fresh graduates and candidates with limited working experience.
- Internship or exposure to automotive, manufacturing, logistics, warehouse or supply chain operations is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of production planning, logistics, inventory or warehouse operations.
- Good analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Mandarin-speaking ability is an added advantage for communication with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Willing to work on-site at the automotive plant in Tampoi, Johor.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and participate in on-site operational activities.
- Proactive, responsible, detail-oriented and willing to learn.
