Job Description

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Group Finance, this role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets. The position oversees group consolidation, statutory audit processes, and financial compliance while supporting accounting operations across non-hospital business units.

The role also provides strategic financial insights to support decision-making, drives process improvements, strengthens internal controls, and enhances reporting efficiency. Additionally, the incumbent plays a key role in financial system optimisation and team development to support the organisation's long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and review monthly management reports, group consolidation, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting in accordance with group requirements.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations of financial performance.
  • Collaborate with department heads on strategic initiatives, providing financial insights and analysis.

2. Financial Operations & Data Integrity

  • Review and approve financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Monitor the accuracy and completeness of financial data submitted by business units.
  • Support cash flow monitoring and highlight any potential issues.
  • Coordinate with business units to ensure alignment with group finance requirements.

3. Compliance & Governance

  • Lead and support internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating SOPs and financial controls.
  • Contribute to the preparation of regulatory and statutory reports (e.g., Bursa, ESG).

4. Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify areas for process improvement and support the implementation of enhancements.
  • Lead in driving automation initiatives and improving reporting efficiency.
  • Support system implementation and ensure data consistency across systems.

5. Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and review the work of junior members of the finance team.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to support team development.
  • Assist in ensuring smooth day-to-day finance operations.

6. Ad-hoc Responsibilities

  • Support projects and tasks assigned by management as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, MIA) is an advantage.
  • At least 510 years of relevant experience, preferably in a listed company, audit firm, or healthcare industry.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of financial systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office tools.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in listed companies, the healthcare industry, or Power BI is an added advantage.
