The Team
Through continued growth comes more demand for business insights, operational improvement and data-led ways of working. To support this need and help maintain operational efficiency, A&M has invested in growing its Business Intelligence Unit (BIU). The BIU creates and maintains scalable data assets, constructs analysis, delivers reporting and visualisation products, and leads process improvement implementations that may include workflow redesign, automation, application build, tooling, or separate diagnostic analysis. The unit is also focused on embedding AI into its own ways of working to drive efficiency, and on enabling the business to apply AI to the data assets and solutions the team provides. All with the goal of supporting the firm to realise operational efficiencies identified through analysis.
The BIU operates across multiple geographies and practice areas, supporting decision-making for senior stakeholders across the firm.
The Business Intelligence Unit is seeking an experienced Manager to establish and lead the BIU's presence across the APAC region. As the first senior BIU hire in the region, this individual will play a critical role in shaping the APAC operating model, supporting the further build-out of the regional team, and acting as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the global BIU.
This is a leadership role that combines regional stakeholder management with hands-on technical credibility. The successful candidate will bring strong technical grounding across analytics and business intelligence, demonstrated people management experience, and the credibility to represent the BIU to senior stakeholders across the region. They will also be expected to help define scalable ways of working for APAC, including appropriate standards for data quality, documentation, ownership, and governance. The role is central to ensuring APAC's requests are understood and prioritised appropriately against the firm's global BIU roadmap, with work either delivered by the team or routed to the right owner when it falls outside the BIU's remit.
The ideal candidate will be a natural leader who balances strong stakeholder instincts with extensive technical experience and has the appetite to find innovative, often AI-enabled, ways of working more efficiently.
How You Will Contribute
- Lead, coach, and develop the APAC BIU team, setting direction, priorities, quality standards, and scalable working practices as the regional capability grows.
- Gather, triage, and prioritise regional requests spanning reporting, analytics, process improvement, application development, tooling, and broader data needs, balancing regional demand against the global BIU roadmap and capacity.
- Assess incoming requests against the BIU's remit, pushing back where appropriate and redirecting requests to the correct owning team where they fall outside BIU scope.
- Support the delivery of non-reporting outputs, including business applications, workflow tools, automation, standalone analysis, and operational recommendations where these are the best route to solving the business problem.
- Serve as a senior technical point of contact for complex reporting, data, and troubleshooting issues raised within the region.
- Embed strong data governance practices across BIU outputs, including clear documentation, data quality checks, ownership models, and appropriate controls for recurring reporting, data assets, applications, and workflow tools.
- Represent APAC's priorities and constraints in BIU leadership forums and global planning discussions.
- Identify opportunities to embed AI and other emerging tools into the team's ways of working to drive efficiency and speed of delivery.
- Ensure communication to stakeholders is clear, timely, and sets appropriate expectations on scope and timelines.
