Manager, Group Legal

• Contracts review: to review business operational contracts, especially high-value, complex projects including strategic partnerships, licensing, financing, investment, joint ventures and so on. Provide end-to-end legal support from structural design and risk assessment to final execution.
• Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): take lead to design, implementation, and continuous optimization of the company's CLM framework to drive efficiency and ensure seamless end-to-end contract approval workflows.
• Risk Mitigation & Audit: take lead to conduct regular overall review of exiling business contracts to identify potential liabilities and loopholes. Establish early-warning mechanism and take corrective action plans.
• Compliance Framework Design: Establish, implement, and monitor the group's corporate compliance system based on business scope and regulatory requirements. Formulate comprehensive internal compliance policies.
• ESG and sustainability: Advise on evolving ESG regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or above. Qualified and has been admitted to the Malaysian Bar.
• 10+ years working experience in reputable law firm and/or companies as in-house legal counsel.
• Legal experience in an Automotive OEM is highly preferred.
• A thorough understanding of the law (specially Contracts Act, Companies Act) and contract governance under common law principles.
• Outstanding drafting, reviewing, and negotiation skills for complex commercial contracts and legal correspondence.
• Being able to manage complex tasks and to coordinate with different stakeholders. Able to drive operational transformation from scratch (O to 1) with a strong result-oriented mindset.
• Strong solution-oriented mindset-capable of not just identifying risks but actively defining problems and delivering the solutions.
• Proficiency in English. Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin is a distinct advantage (to facilitate communication with overseas partners).
• Self-motivated and adaptable to fast-paced environments, with a strong willingness to expand scope of work
