Ansell is looking for a Manager, Project Engineering to join our team in Cyberjaya!
In this position, you will be responsible to for leading the global engineering automation team in automation engineering, new development, coordinate and manage projects towards effective delivery in a timely manner.
Work closely with stakeholders from manufacturing sites operation team and global sourcing team ensuring all KPI are met.

What your role will be
- Leading and build automation team for the exam category
- Leading technical role for all Exam/SU automation projects.
- Coordinate all P2 (Productivity) related projects for all Exam/SU sites.
- Project planning prioritization
- Develop automation team skillset and capability align to P2 initiatives.
- Contribute to P2 (Productivity) related projects in line with near range (NRP) & long rang (LRP) plan and P2 project pipeline for generation 1.0 and generation 2.0 automation strategies.
- Meeting KPIs in capex spending not overrun <10% and timely delivery of project <+1 month delay.
- Meeting P2 head count reduction targets and commitments.
- Main project deliveries on Exam Category:
- Responsible and accountable for all Generation 1.0 and Generation 2.0 automation initiatives.
- Generation 1.0 Technology which comprises latest market technology within 2 years.
- Generation 1.0 project focuses on implementation of examination glove end of line automation and packing technology.
- Generation 2.0 Technologies which mainly development project under the automation pipeline aligned to Ansell Long range plan (LRP).
- Generation 2.0 project focuses on generation 1.0 technology upgrade as well as development of new automation opportunities targeted at labor intensive area.
- Generation 2.0 also focus on full integration into Ansell enterprise (ERP/D365) system.
- Scope of work includes interaction with internal and external parties such as: - Global sourcing, plant operation team, plant local engineering team, global engineering support pillar (Internal). And Suppliers, strictly within Ansell's policy and guideline.
- Scope of project to ensure all project key matrix acceptance criteria is fully met and properly handover for project roll-out.
- Scope of works include training of the newly implemented technology to the Ansell people.
- Other focuses and objectives:
- Responsible for project task planning including scope of work preparation, spending forecast & tracking.
- Supervise all automation engineering works from modification, installation, and commissioning works on site and ensure project plans are executed as designed. Reports project progress activities to related personnel.
- Ensure knowledge transfer and necessary training to related personnel when authorized or directed to do so.
- Any other project related task assigned by the superior manager.
- Work with highest level of safety mindset for the people, environment, and planet with compliance to Ansell safety standards as well as international safety standard.
- Basic understanding of safety standards for work at height, confined space, HOT works, PPE requirements, tools, and instruments.
- Ensure all safety procedures and training done properly with adequate risk assessment prior to start of project to eliminate, minimize, or mitigate wherever possible the risk of accident or injury to employees and company property.
- Ensure safe working practices and conditions are allowed, safety procedures are strictly adhered to as well as appropriate safety protective equipment is used by contractors and visitors to project site.
- Report on any incident and accident immediately to the manager and safety department.
- Ensure that all company activities conducted either personally or by subordinates; comply with all Malaysia's legal requirements and the highest company and ethical standards.
- Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
- Code of conduct:
- Comply to all Ansell code of conduct to protect and prevent any misconduct of company's intellectual property.
- Complete all assigned code of conduct trainings.
What will you bring to Ansell
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Science discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering background, preferably in rubber gloves/rubber related (medical devices/disposables) manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing based and/or of dipped latex products and dipping machines
- Adequate experience in mechanical machines, from design till operation.
- Basic budgeting knowledge, in terms of managing cost and timeline.
- Good project management skills.
- Able to develop and implement innovative and practical design solutions to technical problems.
- Possess experience of managing projects and are familiar with using project plans, issue and risk management and change control.
- Fair knowledge in Auto CAD, 3D drawing and MS Office software
- Travel will be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or carrying projects in plants. Estimated 30 – 50% travel including spending extended period of time in the plants (mainly in Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Asia region).
