Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical engineering design and develop engineering solutions for industrial and semiconductor projects.
- Prepare and review mechanical drawings, layouts, specifications, calculations, and technical documents.
- Coordinate mechanical design works with architectural, structural, electrical, process, and other project disciplines.
- Support the planning and execution of design-and-build projects, from design development through construction and commissioning.
- Review project requirements, technical specifications, and design criteria to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams on technical and design matters.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction and installation.
- Review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and technical proposals.
- Troubleshoot design and site issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Monitor mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Assist with project planning, cost control, technical submissions, and project documentation.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant Malaysian standards, codes, safety requirements, and project specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, engineering, construction, or project execution.
- Experience in semiconductor, industrial, manufacturing, cleanroom, or high-tech facility projects is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in project design and build / design-and-build environments.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Revit, BIM, or other engineering design software will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, engineering principles, construction practices, and project coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Willing to travel to project sites when required.
