Job Description

Role Summary

The Technical Engineer (Network) plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting network infrastructure. This position is responsible for ensuring that network operations are executed according to established timelines and quality standards. Key responsibilities include preventive maintenance, providing technical support (both on-site and remotely), and managing project deployments while adhering to internal processes and systems.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Preventive Maintenance Scheduling:
  • Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance activities with clients to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
  1. Preventive Maintenance Execution:
  • Conduct remote or on-site preventive maintenance to ensure the integrity of hardware and infrastructure.
  1. Operational Support:
  • Deliver both onsite and remote technical support to customers, facilitating prompt and effective problem resolution.
  1. Documentation Management:
  • Prepare and upload comprehensive preventive maintenance and incident reports into the Field Service Management System (FSMS) in a timely manner.
  1. Installation Execution:
  • Execute installations for single technologies, ensuring compliance with project timelines and customer specifications.
  1. Complex Project Assistance:
  • Support the execution of complex installations that involve multiple products and technologies.
  1. Project Deployment Management:
  • Oversee the deployment of projects, ensuring completion aligns with timelines and customer requirements.
  1. Technical Issue Documentation:
  • Document and update technical issues encountered during project implementation for future reference and improvements.
  1. Testing and Commissioning:
  • Carry out project testing and commissioning activities with clients to verify system functionality and satisfaction.
  1. Compliance & Standards:
  • Ensure all tasks meet relevant technical standards and company policies, contributing to ongoing operational improvements.
  1. Knowledge Sharing:
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions within the team to encourage continuous learning and improvement.
  1. Time Management:
  • Promptly update timesheets in the Intranet system to ensure accurate tracking of work hours and project allocations.
  1. Standby Rotation Participation:
  • Participate in departmental standby rotation to provide on-call technical support as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Qualifications:
  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Networking, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP routing, network packet analysis tools, and network configuration. Familiarity with network equipment such as routers and switches. Experience with networking products or possession of a CCNA certification or any relevant certification is advantageous.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on technical experience in a similar network role, preferably involving network deployment, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to articulate technical solutions and remedial action plans to both customers and internal teams.
  • Customer Management Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships effectively, ensuring swift and satisfactory resolution of technical issues.
