We're looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our tech team, reporting to the Head of IT Operations. In this role, you'll design, deploy, and maintain our network infrastructure, ensuring it's secure, scalable, and running smoothly for everyone in the organization. You'll handle everything from switches, firewalls, and VPNs to cloud platforms, while continuously monitoring performance and implementing improvements to keep our digital workspace fast and reliable.
- Network Design and Implementation
- Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
- Select appropriate hardware and software solutions based on organizational needs.
- Implement scalable and modular network architectures to accommodate future growth.
- Network Monitoring and Maintenance
- Monitor network performance and analyze traffic patterns to identify bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades on network devices and systems.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security measures.
- Conduct periodic security audits to ensure adherence to organizational and industry standards.
- Develop and enforce network access policies to protect sensitive data.
- Network Optimization
- Continuously evaluate network performance and implement improvements for speed and reliability.
- Upgrade network components or reconfigure systems to optimize traffic flow.
- Develop scripts and automation tools (Bash preferred) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Research and test new technologies to enhance network scalability and efficiency.
- Documentation
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and topology maps.
- Record changes, incidents, and resolutions in a centralized documentation system.
- Develop and update network policies and standard operating procedures.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with system administrators, IT support, and operations teams to resolve issues.
- Support new outlet projects by coordinating network requirements and deployment plans.
- Communicate network updates and changes to stakeholders effectively.
- Capacity Planning
- Analyze current network utilization and predict future bandwidth and infrastructure needs.
- Plan for network expansion and resource allocation to prevent performance degradation.
- Prepare cost estimates and proposals for scaling network resources.
- Vendor Management
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure network equipment and services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure SLA compliance.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships to optimize costs and service quality.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, with Networking as a focus or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer with minimum 2 years experience.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, SDWAN, STPs, QoS, IPSec etc.).
- Familiar with setting up & troubleshooting printers, CCTV, Access Control, VoIP, Wireless, Switch, Firewalls, and Server.
- Experience in setting up network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Zabbix, Wireshark, Iperf etc.) are a plus.
- Cloud platform familiarity is a plus (GCP preferred).
- Familiarity with network security best practices and tools.
- CCNA / CCNP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Excellent technical & non-technical communication skills.
- A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose complex problems across multiple layers and methodical approach to root cause analysis.
- Proven ability to remain effective during network outages and critical incidents.
