About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Engineer to play a key role in the success of our operations and client relationships. This role combines strategic planning, operational oversight, and technical delivery. The Operations Engineer will be accountable for managing day-to-day slickline operations, building strong client relationships, and driving the growth and profitability of client accounts.
This position will be based in Kuala Lumpur.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily slickline operations at offshore client sites
- Monitor job execution and operational needs, including equipment and technical support
- Coordinate equipment usage, turnaround, and liaise with the Maintenance Team on replacement requirements
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational and sales reports
- Maintain accurate job programs, pipeline trackers, and revenue reports
- Monitor job planning vs actual performance
- Conduct regular client visits and service quality reviews
- Provide updates on project status, specific client requests, and potential sales leads
- Host technical meetings, lunch-and-learns, and presentations with clients
- Offer technical recommendations, best practices, and lessons learned from previous operations
- Address client issues proactively and ensure proper resolution and closure
- Follow up on SQM (Service Quality Management) and failure investigations
- Promote company services and capabilities across business divisions
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Support marketing strategy and represent the company's value proposition to clients
- Provide technical and commercial input for Slickline tenders
- Assist in preparing responses and clarifications for integrated tendering packages
- Communicate regularly with Operations Manager (OM), Field Service Manager (FSM), and Heads of Department (HOD)
- Highlight and resolve any operational or client-raised issues
- Ensure adequate asset allocation for WMO/EMO operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in operational engineering, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
- Minimum 5 years and above experience with slickline or well intervention operations is an added advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of account management and customer-focused service.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, field-based environments.
- Knowledge of industry technologies and readiness to adopt and implement innovative solutions.
