Role Purpose

This position is responsible for providing accounting, budgeting, forecasting support to Dairymas Team with particular focus on cultured and dairy food. The position is also responsible to provide costing services for Dairymas's production facility in accordance with the company accounting timetable and reporting requirements.

The Operations and Costing Accountant key focus areas are:

  • Proactive provision of timely (timely, daily, weekly, monthly and real time), accurate and sound commercial and financial information and advice to enable informed decision making by the Operations Team
  • Facilitate the Standard Cost of Sales updates into SAP (both manufactured and purchased)
  • Facilitate the understanding and management of Operations and Supply Chain costs, freight and distribution costs.
  • Accurate reporting of Inventory Balances including reconciliations, cost variances and revaluations
  • Project costing for Dairymas as 3rd party manufacturer for intercompany transactions.
  • Conversion cost analysis and quarterly transfer pricing updates in SAP.
  • Business support to operations managers – analysis to assist management to identify appropriate action to enhance profitability.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Performance

  • To complete the monthly financial results within timelines and reporting procedures. This includes completing associated site balance sheet items, undertaking reconciliations, and being involved in timely reconciliation of issues.
  • To complete forecasting and associated analysis to actual performance and the compilation of annual budgets and forecasts, giving guidance to Operations team in the use of the information.(Including Inventory and CAPEX forecasts)
  • Inventory Revaluation and NRV including controls over inventory (e.g Coordination of stock counts in accordance with Group Policies)
  • Administrative costs management and accuracy
  • KPI reporting

Maintain Standard costs for manufactured and purchased in goods

  • Regularly review standard costs to ensure they appropriately reflect the cost of the product produced
  • Undertake the cost roll up of standard cost elements to form full standard costs
  • Understand and explain movements in costs. Provide reports to the businesses to explain the movements in an easy to understand and professionally presented manner
  • Prepare standard costs for product purchased from third party suppliers
  • Ensure costing is applied uniformly across the Fonterra Malaysian businesses
  • Assist with the audits and review of the major third party manufacturers
  • Ensure the receipts and payment process for imported product is functioning efficiently and effectively, freight inclusive

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commercial/Financial Management, or a related field; alternatively, tertiary qualifications in accounting or a relevant discipline, with preference for candidates progressing toward a professional certification (CPA/CA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • 3–5 years experience in an FMCG or manufacturing setting, or within a large organisation with complex reporting and performance requirements.
  • Strong commercial/technical expertise, with the ability to apply it effectively in a complex business environment.
  • Proficient with multiple management information systems and major ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Proven strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
