Operations Engineer – Solar Asset Management & Operations

Reporting to: Asset Management & Operations Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and support for operational issues affecting solar PV plant performance.
  • Investigate system faults, equipment failures, and plant underperformance, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support site technical activities including inspections, maintenance verification, and troubleshooting works.
  • Coordinate with O&M contractors to ensure timely resolution of operational and technical issues.
  • Review technical reports and maintenance records submitted by O&M contractors.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for plant incidents, faults, or system downtime and recommend preventive measures.
  • Assess system health of key plant equipment including inverters, transformers, protection systems, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Support implementation of corrective maintenance actions to maintain high system availability.
  • Participate in periodic site visits to monitor plant condition and operational reliability.
  • Provide technical input for operational and asset performance reports.
  • Support initiatives to improve plant reliability, operational efficiency, and overall system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in solar PV plant operations, renewable energy projects, or power plant operations.
  • Experience in troubleshooting solar PV systems and electrical equipment such as inverters, transformers, and protection systems is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with solar plant operations, maintenance practices, and system reliability management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good coordination and communication skills when working with contractors and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel for site inspections and technical support when required.
