Job Description

Operations Manager – Commercial Manufacturing 

Position Description We're looking for a talented Operations Manager who will deliver high levels of service across our Operations division including Production, Planning & Sourcing, Warehouse & Logistics.

Positions Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the efficient and effective running of all aspects of the Manufacturing Division as well as training and mentoring trainees.  

Production:

 • Manage on time delivery for all customer orders. • Monitor the production cycle times to ensure they are in line with the production schedule. • Monitor and track the productivity and recovery levels based on output. • Seek improvements in efficiency and utilisation by assessing production flow, processes and manpower. • Execute solutions to improve the production delays, downtime, and quality issues. • Develop and grow the production team(s) in accordance with business expansion requirements. 

Planning & Sourcing

• Capacity planning to determine the labour requirement to fulfil required output. • Production schedule planning and assembly order management to meet on time delivery. • Plan and Monitor assembly order status and updating ERP. • Material planning to determine the inventory requirement to fulfil customer orders and forecast levels. • Develop strategy and plan for cost down initiatives for both RA and RMM. • Sourcing / negotiating / selection / management of suppliers to achieve competitive delivery, quality, and cost. • Supplier creation / item code creation / item master maintenance in ERP software. • Monthly review and reconciling purchase and inventory variances. 

Inventory Management -

• Develop strategy and plan for optimal inventory turns and value embracing JIT delivery practices. • Maintain and optimise MRP in ERP to analyse inventory based on forecast v's demand supplier lead-times. • Maintain and optimise re-order and replenishment functions of ERP to generate supplier PO's. • Tracking of ETD and ETA on incoming & outgoing deliveries for date accuracy in ERP. • Handle end to end process of shipment importation, customs clearance up to delivery. • Lead weekly Sales & Operations Planning meetings. • Conduct quarterly stock take and system updates of raw material, WIP and finished goods and investigate variances. • Conduct quarterly standard cost review and system updates.  

Warehouse & Logistics 

• Price review, negotiating, selection & management of freight forwarders and customs brokers suppliers to achieve competitive delivery, quality, and cost. • Handle end to end process of shipment, importation, customs clearance up to receipt or delivery. • To liaise with government agencies (Customs) on import & export related matters. • Control of records relating to import and export as required by Malaysian Customs 

Management

• Prepare annual departmental budget, expenditures, and track project costs to control expenses. • Prepare statistical periodical reports on manufacturing activities, production targets and achievements relating to output, recovery, productivity, quality, and delivery. • Handle production team disciplinary issues. • Seek continual improvement in manufacturing efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and 5S of the production lines. • Support with research and development initiatives to produce new products.

Reporting Structure This position reports to the Managing Director. This position has the following subordinates: MRP Analyst, Planner, Process Engineer, Plant Engineer, Maintenance, Line leader, production operators. 

Position Requirements

• Degree holder preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain. Those without the necessary qualifications but have extensive relevant working experiences are also encouraged to apply. • Minimum ten (7) years relevant working experience at Manager level. • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power point. • Proficient in ERP and MRP system knowledge. • Proficient in English and Bahasa. • Applicants from the automotive industry are encouraged to apply. • Good organization, communication, and general inter-personal skills. • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meticulous and high attention to detail. • Possess professional maturity, takes personal responsibility/accountability and is a team player.
