ROOTS Malaysia provides expertise in creative services, brand activation, relationship marketing, and brand management. We work very closely with our network partners in PR (ROOTS PR) and digital marketing (DEX) to drive the integrated strategies that we develop for our clients.

In a Nutshell:

As a Performance Specialist, you will be responsible in managing all aspects of paid digital campaigns, across social, display, video, and various programmatic channels. You will work closely with the accounts team to plan and optimize digital marketing campaigns.

What you'll do:

  • Plan, set up, and manage end-to-end paid digital campaigns across social, search, display, and video platforms including Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Conduct daily monitoring and data-driven optimizations to ensure all campaigns meet or exceed planned KPIs and ROAS targets.
  • Execute technical tracking setups, including UTM parameters, GTM tags, and GA4 configurations to ensure accurate data attribution.
  • Reporting & Analysis for insights & recommendation based on multi-channel data such as paid digital, social, email marketing, social listening and other available digital datapoints.
  • Consolidate multi-channel data into actionable insights and visual dashboards to provide clear recommendations for internal teams and client pitches.
  • Able to design and maintain automated data pipelines using tools like Supermetrics, Adveronix, or Zapier to streamline reporting and campaign operations.
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert in WIP meetings with key stakeholders and external customers, advising on AdTech capabilities, troubleshooting tracking issues, and campaign feasibility.
  • Manage & execute campaigns with 3rd party ad buys (innity, InMobi, Premium Publishers, DSP)

What you have:

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in digital advertising or performance marketing.
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Actuarial Science, Psychology, or a related field but not limited to these.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager and TikTok Ads.
  • Solid understanding of GTM, GA4, and pixel implementation with the ability to troubleshoot technical tracking discrepancies.
  • Experience or a strong interest in using data connector tools (eg, Supermetrics, Adveronix) or workflow automation (eg, Zapier, Make).
  • A strong bias for data-based decisions and the ability to interpret complex data sets into simple, actionable insights with strong understanding of sheets (eg Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Highly organized, with excellent time-management skills who can respond positively to changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English and BM (proficiency in Chinese is a plus).

Nice to Have

  • Experience building custom marketing dashboards or working with advanced data visualization tools like Looker Studio.
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, SEMRush, or basic script knowledge for marketing automation.
  • A proactive builder mentality with a passion for automating manual processes to improve efficiency.
