What you can expect
We are seeking a motivated
Pipeline Integrity Intern to support our engineering team in conducting integrity assessments for onshore pipelines. The role focuses primarily on
pipeline bending strain evaluation and pipe movement assessment, including learning how such assessments help prevent failures similar to the
Putra High Gas pipeline incident.
What you will bring
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in data extraction, cleaning, and analysis for bending strain and pipeline movement studies.
- Use Microsoft Excel and inhouse software (training will be provided) to organise, visualise, and interpret pipeline strain data.
- Support engineers in preparing technical summaries, plots, and comparison tables for pipeline integrity assessments.
- Contribute to desktop reviews of pipeline right‑of‑way, ground movement indicators, and strain anomalies.
- Participate in team discussions on integrity findings and mitigation recommendations.
- Follow all QHSE policies and maintain good documentation practices.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data handling, functions, graphs).
- Interest in pipeline safety, structural mechanics, geospatial or geohazard‑related engineering.
- Good analytical thinking and willingness to learn integrity engineering concepts.
Education & Experience
- This position is primarily intended for students currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Petroleum, or a related engineering field.; however, applicants with relevant experience may also be considered
- 6 months applicable
