Job Description

As the gatekeeper of GBR Group's supply chain, the Procurement Executive is responsible for the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle. Your mission is to ensure GBR Group products are manufactured using high quality ingredients sourced at optimal costs. You will drive value through global strategic sourcing, rigorous vendor management, and proactive inventory planning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Global Procurement
  • Global Supply Chain Expansion: Research and onboard international suppliers (raw materials/packaging) to diversify the supply base and reduce dependency on single-source vendors.
  • Market Benchmarking: Perform regular price-trend analysis to ensure GBR Group maintains Best-in-Market pricing and high-quality standards.
  • Tender Management: Lead the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, performing detailed cost-benefit analyses across multiple bids for high-value contracts.

2. Inventory Strategy & Demand Planning
  • Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with Production to establish Safety Stock thresholds, ensuring zero production downtime during global logistics disruptions.
  • Lead-Time Management: Monitor international shipping timelines to optimize production scheduling and minimize out-of-stock scenarios.
  • Inventory Efficiency: Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) strategies and identify slow-moving stock to minimize wastage and storage costs.

3. Quality, Compliance & ESG
  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure 100% compliance by verifying Halal certifications, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and ISO standards during vendor onboarding.
  • Contractual Accountability: Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with logistics and raw material partners to safeguard against damages or delays.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Proactively source eco-friendly and recyclable packaging to support GBR Group's long-term sustainability goals.

4. Financial Oversight & Negotiation
  • Spend Analysis: Categorize and track annual expenditure to identify high-leverage categories for bulk-buying negotiations.
  • Cash Flow Optimization: Negotiate favorable payment and credit terms (e.g., 30 to 60/90 days) to enhance the company's liquidity.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve discrepancies in billing, quantity, or quality by acting as the bridge between Suppliers and the Finance team.

  • Requirements & Qualifications
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or equivalent.
    • Experience: Minimum 23 years in procurement, ideally within the FMCG, Beauty, or Pharmaceutical industries.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Excel (Data analysis/VLOOKUP) and experienced in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or SQL-based accounting software).
    • Linguistic Ability: Professional fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin proficiency is a significant advantage for direct communication with regional/China-based manufacturers.
