Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), estimates, and tender documents, and assist in evaluating contractor and supplier quotations. The role includes monitoring project costs, updating cost plans, and preparing periodic cost reports to ensure budget adherence and financial accuracy. Day-to-day responsibilities involve tracking variations, supporting contract administration, validating progress claims, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve commercial and cost-related issues. The Quantity Surveyor will also contribute to value engineering, risk assessment, and continuous improvement of cost management processes.
Qualifications
- Strong cost management capabilities, including Cost Control and Cost Management skills.
- Ability to prepare and analyze BOQ and support detailed quantity take-off and tender evaluations.
- Experience in Cost Planning to develop, maintain, and update project budgets and forecasts.
- Proficiency in Cost Reporting to produce clear, timely financial and variance reports for stakeholders.
- Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and local industry standards.
- Competence in MS Office and quantity surveying / cost estimation software.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work on-site and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant experience in engineering, construction, or MECS-related projects in Malaysia is an advantage.
