Our Client:
We are partnering with a Japanese based MNC that specializes in surface finishing solutions. The company is expanding their Malaysia operations and looking for a R&D Engineer as part of their strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and improve liquid chemical products such as industrial detergents, cutting fluids, slurries, and polishing compounds
- Plan and conduct laboratory experiments, performance testing, and evaluations
- Source, evaluate, and trial raw materials for R&D projects
- Prepare technical documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), labels, and product records (training provided)
- Collaborate closely with Production and QA teams to support product transfer, scale-up, and qualification
- Maintain and update R&D documentation in compliance with ISO 9001 standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related scientific field
- Experience in laboratory research, formulation work, or applied R&D (academic or industry exposure)
- Basic knowledge or interest in formulation chemistry (e.g., surfactants, chelating agents, dispersants, solvents, inhibitors) is a plus
- Curious, self-motivated, and enjoys problem-solving in non-routine development projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
