ABOUT JOB:
The Resident Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for on-site supervision and technical control of all mechanical works related to the rehabilitation of the Hydropower Plant (4x100MW Francis units).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Supervise mechanical installation works including turbines, valves, cooling systems, and auxiliary mechanical equipment.
- Review and comment on mechanical drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and installation procedures submitted by contractors and OEMs.
- Monitor construction quality and ensure works are executed in accordance with specifications, standards, and approved documentation.
- Coordinate daily with electrical, commissioning, and civil teams to ensure smooth interface management.
- Participate in inspections, testing activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Identify non-conformities, propose corrective actions, and follow up until resolution.
- Provide technical support and reporting to the Chief Resident Engineer.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
- More than 15 years of international experience in hydropower engineering and construction
- Experience as Resident Engineer on at least one hydropower project larger than 100MW
- Strong experience in commissioning of large hydropower units
- Fluent English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
- Experience in refurbishment and Owner's Engineer roles is preferred
