About the Role
The Risk Surveyor is responsible for conducting technical risk surveys and evaluation to support pre-underwriting activities. This role focuses on identifying potential risks, providing loss control and investigative reports and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage reports on loss control and investigative surveys.
- Support and implement loss control recommendations by liaising with underwriting, business units and branch personnel.
- Support and provide risk control expertise and training to enable the evaluation of risks and appreciation of risk for prudent underwriting.
- Work closely with underwriting, claims and business departments to combat adverse claims and recommend remedial actions.
- Provide efficient risk management service and support.
- Special rating presentation to clients especially in respect of risk improvement, FEA requirements etc.
- Support and provide guidance for the development of LSR technical rates to underwriters.
- Support and assist in professional advice and guidance to underwriting and business unit.
- Perform and support the department administrative systems, procedures and work processes for sound operation and continuous improvement.
- Perform and support the department's activities to be inline with the company's values and direction within harmonious working environment through effective communication and excellent leadership.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma holder preferably in Insurance, or related field.
- At least 2-3 years working experience preferably in risk surveying, loss control, or underwriting support.
- Good communication skills, written and spoken.
- Possess strong writing and report writing skills.
- Pro-activeness in job responsibilities.
- Focus on customers and result-oriented.
- Possess own transport.
