Job Summary
The Sales Engineer will drive business growth by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. You will perform site assessments, design optimized solar PV systems, and develop compelling financial proposals (ROI/payback analysis) to help customers transition to clean energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer energy needs and provide technical solutions for residential, commercial, or industrial (C&I) projects.
- System Design & Simulation: Use industry software (e.g., PVsyst, HelioScope, AutoCAD) to create system layouts, calculate energy production, and model shading impacts.
- Site Surveys: Conduct on-site technical assessments to evaluate roof condition, structural integrity, and electrical panel capacity for solar installation.
- Proposal Development: Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals, including Bill of Materials (BOM), cost estimations, and financial business cases (ROI and PPA modeling).
- Customer Consultation: Present complex technical concepts—such as Net Energy Metering (NEM) or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)—to non-technical clients in an understandable way.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, consultants, and regulatory authorities like SEDA or TNB.
- Lead Management: Generate and qualify leads, manage the sales pipeline through CRM tools
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years in technical sales, specifically within Solar PV, power systems, or energy storage.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with solar design tools (HelioScope, PVsyst) and AutoCAD would be an advantage.
- Communication: Strong presentation skills with the ability to handle objections and negotiate high-value contracts.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical codes, inverter technologies (Enphase, SolarEdge), and local solar regulations.
- Mobility: Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel for site visits and client meetings.
