The Grand Events (M) Sdn Bhd is a venue management company, managing iOi Grand Exhibition & Convention Centre. The venue resides in the multi award-winning IOI City Mall, located within IOI Resort City, also known as the largest mall in Malaysia. The pillar-less exhibition hall which is located at the third floor of the mall consists of 2 halls with a reception area, with a total size of 41,000sqft.
Who we are looking for
The idea candidate for this position will excel at creating and closing new opportunities. By using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers.
Job responsibilities
- Bringing-in sales by doing sales call, site inspection to build rapports with customers.
- Respond to sales inquiries on timely manner from potential clients and customers seeking meeting space, annual dinner, conference, ceremony, food and beverage services.
- Preparing quotation, proposals, costing, contracts and collecting payments.
- Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and goals.
- Organise monthly sales activities such as sales blitz.
- Prepare monthly sales and budget reports for management.
- Analyse business markets and design sales strategy & set goals to execute.
- Evaluate and improve sales and financial performance.
- Acts as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, post-event).
- Attending technical meeting & food tasting before the event.
Job requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to communicate in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia & English.
- Experience in event management and banquet in a hotel is an added advantage.
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Marketing / Business Administration / Mass Communications / Advertising /Hotel Management or equivalent.
- Work independently with minimum supervision, team player.
- Excellent convincing abilities, good communication skills, sales and negotiation skills.
- Must possess own transport.
- Ability to adapt and grow in a competitive environment.
- Self-motivation and initiative on sales hunting.
