Role Purpose:
SAP BASIS administrators are responsible for the technical foundation of SAP systems. They ensure that SAP applications run smoothly, securely, and efficiently across development, test, and production environments.
Key Duties:
- System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.).
- Performance & Monitoring: Perform system health checks, performance tuning, and proactive monitoring.
- Upgrades & Patching: Apply support packages, kernel updates, and perform system upgrades.
- Transport Management: Govern SAP Transport Management System (TMS) to move changes across DEV, QA, and PRD landscapes.
- Database Administration: Manage SAP HANA, Oracle, MSSQL, or Sybase databases (backups, restores, space management).
- Security & Compliance: Handle user administration, roles, authorizations, SSL certificates, and audit readiness.
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Support DR drills, failover procedures, and system resilience planning.
- Integration Support: Configure and troubleshoot interfaces with middleware (SAP PO, Secure File Transfer, etc.).
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain SOPs, system documentation, and provide audit evidence.
