Senior Trade Compliance Advisor on our Global Trade Compliance Team in Malaysia.
What You'll Achieve
An experienced Import and Export professional with minimum 10+ years of experience in the related field having worked preferably in a multinational company, in trade compliance or import/export function having a thorough knowledge about the international trade compliance related to countries in Malaysia, preferably the Southeast Asia region.
You will:
- Act as the key Point of Contact (POC) for trade compliance related matters in Malaysia responsible for Trade compliance in Malaysia.
- Ensures strict compliance with all applicable Import/Export compliance laws and regulations in the region. Provides trade compliance support & advice for end to-end order management and delivery processes including Import/Export operation & compliance, Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) classification, Customs valuation, origin determination, FTA determination, international documentation, permits /licenses, STA permits.
- Provide trainings to internal teams on trade compliance topics, and provide regular update & advice to business stakeholders on the relevant trade laws and regulations
- Manage and ensure full compliance of the special trade program, such as Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) and manage Customs broker, and post entry audit, develop corrective/improvement actions accordingly
- Assist Trade Compliance organization with other special projects and assignments as needed and capable of maintaining good relationships with customs and other related authorities to drive our business requirement within the legal framework

Essential Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in direct import and/or export compliance experience in a major corporation, service company, or law firm.
- Excellent knowledge & experience on Malaysia Customs operations including but not limited to the Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) scheme
- Good, analytical skills, detail oriented, and possess the ability to anticipate problems, diffuse situations and resolving complex compliance/business requirements
- Fluency in English and Malay Bahasa language is required, additional fluency in one or more local non-English language(s) is preferred.
- Strong project management and computer skills (emphasis on Microsoft Office programs) is required with fluency in power point is preferred.
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related majors, Law, International Trade, Logistics, Business Administrative are preferred
- Advanced degree is preferred (MBA, Law, International Trade, Logistics, etc.)
